I recently bought a car from Boston, and I live in Virginia. Plateman handled the registration flawlessly. They handled the Virginia registration in a very timely manner, so that I could get my car delivered to Virginia quickly. Their service was quick, efficient and comprehensive. I would highly recommend them to others needing this service.

Rarely do I ever post reviews, but it was so absolutely necessary to give Plateman Inc. their flowers! I cannot rave about their services enough.

For context, I am the Title Clerk for two dealerships in Northeast Ohio, and I had to make sure everything was processed for a customer in New Jersey-a state we have shockingly not dealt with before. To my dismay, not only was there no contact to call at a NJ DMV, but no one could answer the phone at the NJ Department of Taxation either. I had called almost a dozen different numbers and resorted to calling a Cadillac dealership in NJ for any insight. The Title Clerk there of 25 years directed me to Plateman, and I am SO glad she did.

Cathy at Plateman, a third party servicer for NJ (and other states too!) is an expert and a joy to work with. She broke every fee down for me, included detailed checklists, and made sure I had all the knowledge necessary for this customer's deal. She replied to my emails so quickly, as busy as they are, and was a pleasure over the phone as well. I cannot commend her enough for turning what was an absolute nightmare of a situation into something so effortless and expedient. She even sent me copies of the information she got back from NJ so that I could include it in our customer's paperwork in OH!

In the many years of reviewing businesses large and small, I’ve learned that what truly sets a great establishment apart is not only how well they deliver their service, but how they treat people in moments of frustration or urgency. The Plate Man in Staten Island is a shining example of how to do it right.

After my recent car purchase, I tried navigating the maze that is the DMV. The soonest appointment I could secure was two weeks out — not ideal when you’re eager to get your vehicle on the road. Determined, I even showed up at the DMV bright and early, 45 minutes before opening, hoping for a bit of flexibility. Instead, I was turned away by a security officer whose tone left much to be desired.

Frustrated but not ready to give up, I searched online for expedited DMV services. Many claimed to help, but didn’t even bother answering their phones. Then I came across The Plate Man. The difference was immediate. My call was answered on the first ring by a friendly, professional voice that reassured me they could assist — no appointment needed.

When I arrived, I was struck by the operation. The Plate Man is entirely staffed by women — about ten desks, each manned by a focused professional balancing calls, paperwork, and customer needs with impressive grace and efficiency. Smiles, helpful attitudes, and a palpable sense of teamwork filled the room. It’s something I won’t soon forget.

They offer two options: next-day registration service for about $40 (as long as you come in before 4:30 PM) or same-day expedited service for about $100, where your registration is processed in just 15 minutes. I opted for the faster service, and true to their word, I walked out with my registration in hand in under a quarter of an hour.

In short: The Plate Man turned what could have been a stressful bureaucratic headache into a smooth, even enjoyable experience. I couldn’t recommend them more highly to anyone in need of fast, courteous DMV services.
