Central LIRR hub. Busy with commuters. Lots of parking. Free parking. No permits needed. Staffed ticket area. Its a bit of up and down from platforms to get there. Clean, bathroom access. Use the ticket app. A couple of stores on site. Central to LIE. Not far from Sunrise Hwy. Local roads available.

    Ronkonkoma train station.

This is the end of the electric line for the Long Island railroad from New York City to Ronkonkoma. Anything east of here is a diesel electric train and you have to switch here to go further east.

    It's a commuter railroad.
I'm a commuter. 15 years of commuting from here back and forth to Brooklyn. It's the best way to get to the city. It's far but it's better than driving. It's nice is the train or originates from here so you get a seat every time. And if you're going to New York City the train goes direct so you don't ever have to leave your seat. You're going to Brooklyn usually have to change at Jamaica the hub for the Long Island railroad.

The South parking lot is ginormous and free there's a small North parking lot. And then there's a pay lot parking lot structure as well. I've only parked in the free spot on the south side It works out really well. When school is in session it's harder to park here is a lot more cars but during the summer when school is non sessions a lot easier. A lot of people take off vacation.
