I have been going to Safeway Church since about August 2023 as a native English speaker, and I have been very greatly blessed by the the church services, watching people getting Born Again, the great friendships I now enjoy, and the blessings from all the times of prayer.
Although this is a Brazilian Pentecostal church, and the sermons and music are in Portuguese, the Microsoft Translator app translates the sermons on the fly well enough for me, and the music has Portuguese lyrics on the main screen, which helps to learn them.
Also there are enough people with the love of God in them who also speak enough English to where I never feel as if I am lost in Brazil without a passport.
It's always a warm time with the presence of God during the church services properly invited with anointed worship music, Christians worshipping God wholeheartedly, and gracious Christians who strive to make you feel welcome.
Coffee and delicious light refreshments are served from 9:30am onward, and after church is finished around noon. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are also a welcome treat where we sit and get to know each other even more over a great meal.
Also, every 3-5 months there is a 12 hour prayer day, where everyone signs up for an hour of their choosing, so that at least one person is praying for each of the 12 hours. It keeps us strong, and people are graced to be Born Again during altar call, which is a great blessing.
This is my home church, and I highly recommend making this your home church.

Está igreja é uma verdadeira bênção! O Pastor Ricardo é um pastor que tem “cheiro das ovelhas”, caminha junto com amor e zelo. Ele se preocupa, ora por nós e nos oferece conselhos baseados na Palavra de Deus. Que privilégio ter um pastor que guia e cuida do seu rebanho com amor e sabedoria!
