Really spiritual when you go in. It’s like Jesus was waiting for you. Very safe feeling.
Father John and Father Robert are compassionate and very helpful. I have been attending Mass there since 1972.
During my travels into Mount Vernon, I find this parish to be very good . The priests preach very well and the cantors and choirs are ver spirited during the Mass. It is a small parish but the parishioners are friendly and their opportunities to become involved in activities in different ways at this church.
This church provides a warm and welcoming community that fosters spiritual growth. It is a lovely setting for prayer and worship. Elizabeth, the Sunday cantor, has a magnificent voice. Fr. Gentile's homilies are always well prepared and are both an inspiring and thought provoking reflection on the Sunday scripture readings. Sunday mass is truly a blessing for the whole week.
I was just there a few days ago! This is an absolutely magnificent church on the North East side of Mount Vernon. As former residence of Mount Vernon, my family has used this parish for Sunday masses and funerals. The architecture of the building is spectacular. The organ play inside sounds amazing. The priests who deliver the eulogies are wonderfully well spoken individuals who allow a warm and pleasant atmosphere to all masses. The stained glass windows and high ceilings make for a cathedral like feeling in an early turn of the 19 century building. If you ever want to enjoy a beautiful Sunday mass for a holiday mass, Saint Peter and Paul in Mount Vernon is worth the trip. It must be spectacular for baptisms, communion, confirmation, weddings, and daily masses!
