Love this hidden gem! I went in one morning and was greeted by Yiya and was given a hefty sample of monfongo. I ended up getting the full breakfast, monfongo and a side of rice. Everything was delicious. She even made me fresh cheese empanadas since the grab and go container was empty. I've been back for more and will continue getting yummy food here.

I was looking for a Spanish spot near the Hudson Valley airport and came across Yiya’s on Google. Tucked into the back corner of the Shell gas station on Meyers Corners, I walked in and was instantly greeted. We chatted a bit and they were so friendly. I ended up getting the stewed oxtail and stewed chicken with yellow rice, cheese empanadas and a corn fritter. Everything was so delicious. They’re a family run business and again, so hospitable. I look forward to my next visit there.

I have been there twice and I loooove your food. Your empanadas are crispy the way I love them. Your arroz con gandules with the eggplant were amazing the way you prepared the eggplant rivaled the way my Mom makes it.
    Thank u for everything!

    A local secret worth discovering!

The empanadas are legit, crispy outside and packed with flavor. All the Dominican food here tastes homemade and full of soul.

The staff is warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Service is fast.

It’s a great deal for food this good. Even if you’re not nearby, it’s worth the drive or the delivery fee. One of those rare places you want to tell everyone about but also kind of keep to yourself.

    Five stars.

Hidden Gem Inside Shell — Authentic Dominican Flavor!

Don’t let the location fool you — inside the Shell gas station is one of the best kept secrets in town! This place serves true Dominican cuisine made by someone who clearly brings the flavors and traditions straight from the island. The oxtail was unbelievably tender, the empanadas were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the rice tasted just like it came from a family kitchen back home.

You can feel the care and passion in every dish. The friendly service makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Whether you’re Dominican and craving a taste of home, or just someone who loves great food, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back for more!
