Stopped into our favorite small town library on rainy Sunday afternoon and was greeted by the wonderful people a free concert and hot chocolate. This library is the treasure of the neighborhood. My family has been coming here for over 20 years and think that Z is doing an amazing job with community events!

It’s Christmas time, the season to spread joy and good tidings, a time to be great full and thankful. I am taking this time to thank the Crestwood branch for all the joy of good books and service it has given me in 2023 and many, many years before. I proudly call it my home library! But most of all, I want to thank the wonderful staff on hand and the volunteers that make it my home library. They make it an atmosphere of visiting friends weekly. They are always helpful, polite, and extremely friendly. Thank you Crestwood for being a desired place to come and do my loved hobby of reading, you are appreciated!!!!

The Crestwood Library is one of the three libraries in Yonkers and although it is smaller than the other two libraries in Yonkers, the heart is strong and mighty. When you walk in, you are charmed by the quaint feeling of the library being like a second home. I treasure all my interactions here and most of all my kids love to come and visit the classes and offerings. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy. The feeling of togetherness and family is palpable amongst the team and when you visit you really feel connected to something bigger than yourself. Z and the team have managed to cultivate such a strong sense of community and belonging. There are countless events, opportunities, classes, educational programs, music and arts programming, online exercise offerings, story times, and so many more resources the list goes on and on. There is so much work that goes into planning such a full schedule not only in person, but online, and to make it look like it is done with such ease and thoughtfulness. I applaud Z and her team for cultivating a lovely library experience, perfect for a reader, or someone looking to learn something new and truly enrich their life. I hope you take the time to visit and experience the warmth and sense of belonging that the Crestwood Library has to offer! They are doing great work in serving the people of Westchester. I highly recommend a visit, to schedule yourself for an art class in person or online, watch for their special programming, or to just browse the shelves and find yourself a classic book! Any time you visit is perfect to experience this home away from home.

The Crestwood branch of the bigger Yonkers Public library is always humming with activities & programs: virtual & in-person; cultural, literary, artistic, physical & musical, etc. Always something for all age groups and backgrounds thanks to Z, the dynamo that runs it, and her staff. She’s really turned it around from the quiet, place-holder it had become in the past. Highly recommend that you check out any of their programs or just pop in to take out a book, magazine or movie. Well worth it!
