For me, it's always a bit concerning booking a hotel or motel with two stars outside of a major hub. So, I was very pleasantly surprised with the service and room and cleanliness of this facility. I would have no qualms about staying here. Also family that owns or manages is very nice and professional.
Let's face it this is a real no frills place to stay. Mismatched pillows, sheets, and other linens. The room was clean (an absolute minimum in any stay). The reuse of shampoo bottles (as evidenced by the near worn out labels is surprising and off putting. No telling what they are refilled with. Let's face it with 3.4 ounces being the max allowed on planes, who brings their own? Checkout was smooth, checkin the woman was in no way friendly or personable.
You can tell that the management is squeezing every penny they can (reuse of shampoo bottles, see through toilet paper, mismatched linens, etc.).
The positives, which seems like the minimum are:
1) Clean. 2) Inexpensive. 3) No visible insects. 4) Quiet (but it is the off season).
For a few nights, in a pinch, sure why not.
I looked on line at Hotels Tonight and we drove 40 minutes to the motel. When we arrived the front desk was closed so I called the number listed and received another hotel who gave me....what she said was the correct number however, after calling that number which was incorrect we just drove another 50+ minutes to a Fairfield Marriott that was listed and stated the night there.
Stayed over for a family party in the area. The room was big a spacious. bed comfortable and was easy to get to off of 84. Just 10 minutes to town want all the shops. plenty of food places to chose from. like Goodfellas Pizza.
I will not lie, I kind of felt like I was slumming it coming here. Then my family and I had the most amazing sleep of our vacation here! Rooms are outdated, but I like that. Rooms still have a cigarette smoke smell, but we got used to it. Beds and sheets were comfortable. Very quiet location right off of the interstate. Kind of sketchy Chinese restaurant out front, not sure if it is open or not. Affordable
