I can’t say enough great things about Black hole in Seymour. From the coaches, to the other gym members, this place has very quickly become like family, all while training my son to be a warrior! My 9 year old loves the classes, and his confidence has absolutely sky rocketed since he started jiujitsu here. Coach Andrew really has a way with the kids to make them feel comfortable, capable, and engaged with this sport. I am so happy we landed here after being highly recommended from our neighbor, and cannot WAIT to see how far my son will take this sport. He got his first taste of competing this past weekend, and is so excited to get back on the mat to compete some more!! Thank you specifically to Coach Andrew and Coach Maddie for believing in my little firecracker, and for teaching him the strength to believe in himself!! If you aren’t winning, you’re learning, and we plan to keep learning from you all for a long time!!!

I’ve been training here for 6 months and I love this gym. The facility is very clean and recently upgraded to a larger space with brand new mats and strength and conditioning equipment. All of the coaches are excellent whether you’re looking to learn some self defense/get in shape, or looking to be a serious competitor. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to learn Jiu Jitsu!

Awesome place. Lots of mat space. The instructor is amazing with kids. I've been going here for over a year. Couldn't even do the warm up when I first joined and received nothing but encouragement since day one. Check them out, I think the first class might be free.

I started Jiu Jitsu here a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier.

The people here truly care about their community and it shows. They really make you feel like you are a part of their family! Nobody will make you feel bad for not getting something right. Everyone is there to support each other, and I learned that very quickly!

The owner, Doug, is extremely kind and accommodating. I was the only girl in class and he made it a point to pull me to the side at the end of class and ask if anyone was making me uncomfortable, and made sure I knew that if someone was making me feel weird, I could tell him and he would take care of it. Feels good knowing that I can train safely :-)

Starting something new is terrifying for anyone- but the instructors here are so kind and with you every step of the way...cracking jokes, being silly with you, standing by your side when you need it.. Before my first day I was anxious about being left behind during warmups, but to my pleasant surprise on day 1 my instructor did all the warmups right by my side.

If you've considered taking up any kind of martial art, do it. There are a thousand reasons why you could talk yourself out of it, but you only need ONE to go. I think it's the best thing you could do for yourself- and when you come you'll see why.

Please come join this growing family....ESPECIALLY if you're a woman!!
