In January of 2025 I suffered a broken femur near my right hip while riding my bicycle. Dr. Covey was called in to St. Mary’s hospital on a cold Sunday for emergency surgery. He installed a rod into the top of the bone, secured with 2 screws. I remain extremely grateful for his effort that day.
Over time the bone healed, but pushed the top screw outward so it caused pain as it rubbed against the I.T. Band.
On September 9th, 2025, Dr. Covey addressed the rubbing issue by exchanging the top screw outward so for a shorter version. This took place at Mid State Medical Center - an outstanding facility.
Now, only 2 days after this surgery I’m able to do a short ride on my indoor bike with much less pain. As an 81 year old guy, I can’t express how grateful I am for Dr. Covey’s talent, skill and manner. He is an easy person to like, respect and admire. I am extremely grateful for his handling of both surgeries.
