Came here as a suggestion from a friend while I was in the area. Greeted by the friendly staff as soon as you walk in. I got my Philly steak omelette to go. Great portions and cooked well. I recommend this place if you’re in the area for breakfast
My wife and I just love Jimmy's. For many years we have gone to Jimmy's for breakfast. Love the shredded home fries!!!
The staff are friendly and pleasant. We moved out of Connecticut 4 years ago. Visited friends in Waterbury. HAD to go to Jimmy's for breakfast. And they remember us!!! Now that's the kind of place we love to go to!!!
Food was lackluster and disappointing. Picked this place while passing through the area because of the 4.4 stars but my food didn't live up to the hype at all. Couldn't order ahead for pickup as their phone was apparently not working. When I walked in, I was asked if I was picking up, so I mentioned that I had tried a couple times but the number wasn't working. The cashier said they were having trouble with the phone yesterday and today. Okay, only mildly annoying but diners are pretty fast about breakfast food, and they were, so not a big deal. Staff was friendly. Took my food to go. Home fries were decent; I ate all of those and the toast was toast as expected, but the bacon in the omelette was just gross. It was tiny, chewy, stringy little chunks. I swear it's like they used pre cooked bacon bits, threw them in almost an inch thick and called it a day. Didn't really eat any of it. Glad I only wasted $12 with tip on a meal I barely ate half of. Also be warned there is a large step up when entering the front door, but no warning sign that I saw for coming in. I tripped a bit since this was my first time there and I didn't know. There was a sign for it as you head out at least.
Jimmy's was a pleasant surprise on a trip through Watertown. Prompt attentive staff and quick service was a delight! We had the Florentine omelette which was spot on in flavor as well as a bacon cheddar omelette. The shredded potatoes and home fries did not disappoint. Fluffy pancakes rounded out our breakfast. I recommend a stop if you're looking for a solid comforting meal!
While in the area, we were hungry for breakfast and decided to give Jimmy’s a try. Loved the no frills, hometown diner vibe right away. They had everything you could want for breakfast on the menu. They did a great job on the poached eggs, and the bacon was nice and crispy. Our one critique would be that the corned beef hash didn’t seem homemade. The food came out quickly and our waitress was attentive. I would definitely come back!
