Been here 4 times and it’s absolutely the best Mexican around. The ceviches are so fresh and huge. Taco selection is so good and the margaritas are 2nd to none. Wait staff and the owner are also outstanding.
What a hidden gem for delicious Mexican food! We had visited their food truck about a year ago when they were at South Farms Pasture, and they impressed us again at their restaurant. There’s so many authentic choices, and everything we had was so flavorful. Even the drinks were fantastic! Our server, Maya, was friendly and attentive. It’s so cozy inside and it had an overall welcoming vibe. Some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in Litchfield county, and we’ll definitely be back!
We had amazing fall drinks and delicious food. Our server even gave us a sample of a fall themed dessert made with pumpkin. Excellent service. Highly recommend
Review: La Guerra Cantina and Food Truck
La Guerra Cantina and Food Truck offers a solid Mexican dining experience that hits the spot for a quick and satisfying meal. We visited the physical cantina location and found the atmosphere pleasant, featuring decent interior and outdoor seating options, perfect for a casual lunch or evening out.
The first thing that stood out was the efficiency—service was fast, with our appetizers and entrees arriving quickly after ordering.
We started with the classics: the Guacamole and Queso dip. The guacamole was fresh and creamy, and the queso was warm and satisfying. For the mains, we sampled the Chicken Tacos and the signature Mole Enchiladas.
Overall, the food was good, delivering on portion size and freshness. However, this is where the main critique comes in: the dishes, while enjoyable, lacked levels of flavor. Many of the items, including the chicken tacos, were somewhat flat, needing a punch of citrus, heat, or deep savory notes to elevate them from good to great.
The clear exception to this was the Mole Enchiladas. The mole sauce was good—it had a nice balance of sweetness and spice, demonstrating the complex layering of flavor that the other dishes seemed to miss. It saved the meal from being merely adequate and is definitely the must-try item on the menu.
Verdict: La Guerra is a reliable choice when you need good, quick Mexican food, especially if you prioritize fast service and enjoy casual seating.
Authentic Mexican cuisine along with a few other options such as NY strip and chicken sandwiches as part of their Summer specials menu. Will definitely eat here again!
