I went for the "stat MRI" on my left knee ordered by dr. Shenkel at Fairfield OSG. The service in Shelton was excellent, but the lack of communication overshadowed it. I was on crutches with an injured knee and went into the building and waited in line for 10 minutes before being told MRIs are done in the other building behind the plaza. Where is the simple SIGN directing people to the MRI building?? Now, I'm late and have had to get in and out of the car twice with crutches and a painful knee. After the MRI, I asked if the results would be in MyChart. The guy at the front desk said he's pretty sure. I asked if there was a separate portal. He said yes, but there was no way to access it from there. No one said I needed to schedule an appointment with a new doctor to read the results to me. I found this out the next morning when I called after hearing nothing, that this was required, and there was no one available until Monday because the sports doctors were all in surgery except for one who left early. What's the point of a 'stat MRI' you can't get the result until four days later?? Again, this could have been prevented if OSG simply managed the process, signage, and communication. Basic stuff that is surprisingly overlooked. Please clarify your process and patient instructions so you're not wasting everyone's time!
Walked in as a new patient on a Saturday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the waiting area and exams rooms were very clean and comfortable. Very impressed that I was seen by a doctor, Dina Elnaggar, MD, on a Saturday, not a PA or student PA like many walk ins. Dr. Elnaggar took her time and explained everything to me, she was wonderful! From start to finish, including paperwork, XRays, and exam, was there about an hour. I went in at 10 am, only one other person was there, I’m sure it’s much longer when busier, but this was a great visit!
I cannot say enough about the medical professionals who work here. My wife took our 2 1/2 year-old here a few days ago after she twisted her ankle, and raved about how caring and considerate the staff was. Her words were, "It seems like everyone there has kids and cares."
I took my daughter back today for a follow up and could not agree more. Everyone from the receptionist up front, to the intake nurse, to the doctor was incredibly sweet to my daughter while they inevitably had to make her very uncomfortable. They made sure to explain everything before they did it and spoke to her in a calm, soothing voice. The nurse who splinted my daughter's leg even gave her a stress ball with funny hair and a few lollipops that immediately put her at ease.
I can't recommend this place enough for anyone who has kids
I just have to say this is the best medical group of people I have EVER come into contact with. From the time I took my x-ray to the time I was trying to figure out my MRI all the workers in this place were amazing. It was so refreshing having approachable workers accompany you through an annoying situation. They were all patient and positive attitude and made me feel my issue was a priority every time I called for help. Thank you to all the medical workers. You all need a raise for customer service of excellence.
