8/29 Taqueria Guadalupe overall 3.6/5⭐️
I had very high expectations based on the high rated reviews but I was quite disappointed.
ORDER OF:
CHICKEN & SHRIMP QUESADILLA 3.7⭐️ the tortilla became too chewy.. but the taste was pretty good
AL PASTOR TACOS. 3.5 ⭐️ pork was kind of dry...definitely had better.
CHURROS 4⭐️.. your basic churros.. pretty good but I just prefer the ones that are filled with caramel.. my preference
Flautas 3.3 ⭐️ the tortillas were over fried. I like it crunchy but it was hard for me to bite down and chew
Not too impressed but you just have to try it yourself.
We called in our first order today. When we arrived, they gave us a beeper to let us know when the food was ready. Pleasant staff, easy parking. The star was the taco birria, so so good. The chicken quesadilla was also excellent. Be sure to get some sauces.
Ordered lunch on Friday for my office, everything was super yummy!! The beans were seasoned nicely!! The lady on the phone was so nice!! One of the best in waterbury!!
I grew up in NYC, Queens, and getting tacos from the food trucks in Corona, Queens (Mexican mecca) is a favorite pastime, especially after a night of drinking.
First, it's the same standard styrofoam containers, but this is the first time ever that the typical 3 taco meal doesn't fit side-by-side.
The reason is that their tacos are not skimpy meat pieces with the typical tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. The meat pieces are large, and they add in extras like pineapples and avocado! The tacos are so big, it's 2 on the bottom, then 3rd on top. First time in my taco eating experience.
Second, quality ingredients and flavor. Better than most tacos that I've had in Corona, Woodside, King Tacos in LA, and more. Legit, large, quality, tasty tacos!
It also amazed me that these guys found & chose this location. Had they entered a Mexican taco contest, I reckon they'd win Top 3.
Third, both guys there were super chill & friendly. We had a good 5 min conversation.
Please give this nondescript taco truck a try for authentic, delicous tacos! Churros were also very good!
Bookmarked these guys and will be stopping by on every drive through the area.
