I've spent 7 months in agony to say the least. I hate medication, I wasn't a fan of doctors prior to this , so it's been a rough few months. I do not have insurance. This man went out of his way to give me the website to inquire about state insurance he could accept, he understood medication isn't helping, and made suggestions that I'm hopeful. He was willing to answer anything and understood my fears and made me feel comfortable and didn't push me. Not only is Dr. Varma a great doctor he's really a great person who wants to develop a doctor patient relationship.
Dr Varma is always focuses on my medical problems and how to best control the pain I experienced during the recent time prior to my office visit. Winter months are more difficult for me. During my last visit Dr Varma did a complete physical exam to ensure I didn’t experience any injuries and reviewed what I should do to control my pain. Stretching, exercise, use of heat and doing there things consistently before any type of physical activity..
As always his office is clean, sterile and I never wait very long before seeing the doctor. His care allows me to have as much quality of life possible while dealing with chronic medical problems.
I am appreciative of his care and the professionalism he and his office staff always provide.

12/22- Dr. Ajay Varma has provided pain management care for me for several years now. He continues to be very informative and makes a significant difference in my quality of life using minimally invasive injections, advice /guidance on stretching and strengthening exercises. He always does a physical exam of and listens to me in a way that most doctors do not. I never am rushed thru my appointment and his staff is very professional with scheduling appointments and any other issues that might arise. He gets a five star rating from me. He is an all around excellent doctor.

Dr. Varma has helped me so much the past few months with the issues from my herniated discs. He truly cares about his patients and makes you feel so comfortable to talk to him. He takes his time to understand your concerns and struggles which I love the most.. most doctors usually rush you out the door and you feel like you never get your questions answered but not Dr. Varma. They also have a text line which I also love if you are in need and need an answer rather quickly ! Highly recommend
Dr. Varma is a commensurate professional, caring and attentive. He will always try to work with you and will always have your back. When I suffered an on the job injury, he worked with me and with Worker’s Comp to get me back on track. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone having pain management issues.
As a physician myself, I have obviously worked and trained with many colleagues, which in theory should help me appraise another doctor's skills more easily. On the other hand, when a doctor finds himself treating a colleague, at times this can change the dynamics of this process - not always for the better. In any case, my initial experience with Dr. Varma was extremely positive and helpful. I was optimistic about my visit after speaking with his professional and warm assistant, Mary, who is a pleasure to work with. Then I found his office to be an oasis in an otherwise prosaic stretch of Route 35 - a beautiful and airy space which - at least to my eye - indicates that this professional cares about his surroundings, and is aware of the impact of his office environment on his staff and patients. Finally, I was astonished to find - in this day and age of compressed managed care - that I was not rushed or interrupted, and was allowed to relate my symptoms and full history, which unfortunately for Dr. Varma was quite convoluted and lengthy He was attentive and entirely focused on my care, with a commitment to not only spelling out his own role in this process, but also ensuring that appropriate complementary specialists were included in my care. He set up a 1-week follow-up, and refrained from ordering a multitude of tests and imaging studies, which might not add much value to my treatment. His exam seemed quite complete and unrushed. He validated all my concerns and offered helpful feedback which was both articulate and astute. Overall, though this was only a first encounter, I would rate Dr. Varma at a high level of professionalism and engagement, a difficult combination to find these days. I highly recommend him.
