Just yum. What's not to love about authentic Costa Rican food made by an amazing Costa Rican team?
We forged on the Pinto with Beef Stew, the Pinto Baldi, Pork Tamal, and Sopa de Tripa. Everything was hearty and delicious except the tamal, which tasted oddly processed and dry. Skip that. But definitely get the big platters of perfectly cooked rice and beans, mouth-melting stew, succulently juicy tripe, and gloriously fried slices of plantains.
I dunno if it was because we weren't their typical clientele, or because we were genuine in our reminiscing of Costa Rica, but they also gave us a free box of alfajores to take home. Don't sleep on these, guys. They're FIRE!
Throw in the dog-friendly outdoor seating in a spacious patios, and you've got a winner of a restaurant. Manhattan could never....
The best costarrican restaurant in the whole USA! Real Pura Vida vibe, great atmosphere, awesome food and amazing people! I’ll come back soon! Muchas gracias!
Had a very delightful dinner, first time eating here. Didn’t know the menu very well and Kevin jumped right in and explained the foods. Service was excellent, food was excellent, very nice place and I will definitely be back.
What a great find! I had not eaten anything today and I was looking around for something close to where I was. After popping on the Marriott eat around town app this place showed it was the closest to me. After looking over the menu online I thought the prices seemed very reasonable and the reviews were great.
As I walked up to the building they had a very nice little outside area for seating. I chose to sit inside and was greeted right away when I walked in the door. The gentlemen of the counter was very friendly and had a fantastic attitude. Not sure if he is a manager or the owner but was definitely a pleasure to interact with.
I ordered a pupusa and Cuban sandwich. The pupusas was delicious! The Cuban sandwich was very good as well. I would have liked to the pork to be a little more juicy but it complimented the sandwich very well. The fries were basic fries that you would get anywhere else.
Was very impressed all of this only cost me $16 and they didn't do a bunch of additional fees like many places around. They do charge the credit card convenience fee but I understood. This is certainly a great location to stop in and I love the fact that it's tucked off the main road in a neighborhood. Gives it a very local feel and they make you feel very welcome!
I had such a great time at baldi cafe today , I haven’t had Costa Rican food in over 15 years and everything I ordered was so authentic and delicious, my husband and I shared a chicken empanada and a chorreada for appetizers then we had arroz Cantonese and beef stew Casado , the portions were generous , and Kevin our waiter was very welcoming and attentive! I highly recommend this restaurant PURA VIDA!
