Talk about a hidden gem! What a wonderful evening with delicious food, excellent service (thank you, Lucas) and even live entertainment. Don't let the outside fool you. You WILL BE pleasantly surprised when you are led to your table for an amazing dining experience!
Little do people know. There is a side room to this pizza place that is awesome. They have some great dishes The Shrimp and Scallops Risoto was great
OMG !! Is all I can say . My wife and I went here for dinner this past Sunday after checking out other restaurant's reviews and this one caught my interest. MY ONLY REGRET IS NOT FINDING THIS PLACE SOONER!!!! From the outside it is very deceiving. Once inside you are taken back by beautiful smartly decorated dining room . Cloth tablecloths and napkins ,really big wine glasses and eating utensils' spotlessly clean and shiny . rest rooms also spotless, a dead giveaway . So I am now relaxed knowing kitchen is clean. From appetizer's to dessert everything was really great. Then the fun starts When Anthony Di Do starts his music and great singing voice topped off the evening. while we ate. Upon leaving we met Agueda and Alfredo Leonor thanking them for a really great meal. Living up to the name of their Restaurant. Will return with many friends.
It was mine and my husband's anniversary and we wanted to try some places around since we recently moved to the Berkeley area. He said Buon Appetito had a dine in side, formally I only knew of it as a pizza/Italian food take out. Don't let the outside fool you, when we mentioned we wanted to dine in we were brought to the left room which was a nice little restaurant side with a gentleman singing. It was quite a lovely surprise! More than likely we reached the very end of the show and dinner rush on a Sunday, so it was us and a few tables who were finishing up and just enjoying the music. The man sang classic pop/jazz/swing music from artists like Frank Sinatra.
The staff was very sweet and nice, very friendly and not pushy. And of course, the food was delicious! The potions were large as well. I like that they keep water out for you to pour into your glass on top of a drink of you wish, as well a soft fresh bread with olive oil and herbs to dip it into, and parmesan. The salad was fresh and light. My husband got the chicken Parm which was huge and delicious, mine was rigatoni in vodka sauce with shrimp. These weren't shrimpy tiny frozen shrimp either- they were fresh and large. Which feels so rare now a days. The sauce was very good. We were too full for dessert sadly.
I highly recommend for a nice dinner! Casual dinning with family, get together with friends, or a date night!
