A rare gem of a garden center and greenhouse. Tucked away a few blocks off Rt 22. Very large selection of indoor and outdoor plants, shubs and trees. Even rare items like banana and palm trees and an impressive selection of cactus. Prices are reasonable too. Staff is top notch, very knowledgeable and helpful. Outstanding
This place is amazing! Great prices and some hard to find plants you can find here! I want to also mention the staff is fantastic and super friendly. In particular, Angie and Allison were so kind and helpful!!!! It was raining when I visited and very comfortable in the green house! Angie is your go to for any questions. Amazing greenhouses! From cactus to flowers of all shapes and sizes. To perennials, annual flowers, vegetable plants and all sorts of herbs. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and polite. Great tropical plants too!
My father has been having issues finding plants that will survive in his yard, so he wanted to try something new. A family friend recommended Hionis over the big box stores. When we arrived here we were blown away!
I have never been to a place like this, it is almost overwhelming at first walking in. I nicknamed it the Costco of plants. This was my first official crash course on flowers and it couldn't have been at a better place. It is beautiful both inside and out of their greenhouses, super friendly and amazing staff, and WOW....What a selection...
If you're considering Hionis, don't hesitate to take that nice weekend drive out. It was well worth driving there from The Oranges. We will definitely be back again soon
Located off Rt. 22 in Whitehouse Station, Hionis is a moderate sized nursery with very reasonable prices. When I went in late May last year, they had a large selection of annuals and hanging plants in excellent condition. This year I had to go later near the end of June and although they still had loads of plants, many needed a good dead-heading and you gardeners know what I mean. However, the prices were excellent for the hanging sweet potatoe vine and petunia (purple and white mixed) that I did purchase. Just over $20
