Carols on the Water @the boathouse

I enjoyed some aspects of this restaurant but not others. It was hard to find a parking spot. The atmosphere was very nice and friendly staff. They seem to have a lot of fried food which I personally can’t eat too much of.. and the grilled chicken was thin and dry. The wait time for our meals was long despite not being too busy.

The location and view are nice. They didn't have the Mediterranean platter that is on the menu. The calamari was okay and seemed to be a half serving of what you'd get at other restaurants. The Greek fries were meh. The fries were good in terms of fries, but I wouldn't consider them Greek. We also got the buffalo wings which were a bit pricey, these were okay as well. The best part was probably the view and the waitress was nice.

Last Saturday night we celebrated a birthday at Carol's on the Water...
I can safely say everything was on point!
The ambience, the service, the food and the employees were exceptional !
The BYOB was a great idea!

We tried Carol’s for the first time and loved it! Food was delicious and we loved sitting over the water. Our waitress, Vanessa, was so sweet and attentive. There is no signage on Route 46 for the restaurant so be careful you don’t just pass by Budd Lake and miss the side street it’s on! BYOB.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at Carol’s on the Water. The waitstaff was not only amazing but also attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The food was simply incredible, with the Thai wings being a standout dish that I couldn't get enough of. My daughter's favorite, and my close second, was the special appetizer, arancini.

And of course the view of the lake, which somehow surprised me with how breathtaking it was. Being on the deck makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the lake.

I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal with a fantastic ambiance.
