My Uncle has lived here for many decades since a horrible car accident many decades ago. Cheshire is a gift from God to my sweet and Uncle and our family. He is treated like a cherished loved one — with dignity and kindness. I can’t imagine how different his life would have been without them providing him such wonderful and loving care. Thank you all for giving my Uncle D a second chance at living a joyful and meaningful life💜
I was diagnosed with a neurological disease in April 2022. I have come a long way however have more progress to do. I have been lucky enough to be accepted into the Cheshire home, and have been here for about 2 months. So far, the staff has been welcoming & responsive to my needs. Being a quadriplegic is not easy and with the help of my therapists I am gaining strength everyday. I spend the most time in therapy for OT with Lauren. She has been kind, professional, & goes the extra mile for me with my needs especially regarding my power wheel chair. My care is personalized & I appreciate everyone for being there for me. I would highly recommend this place! Thank you Cheshire.
Cheshire Home offers a unique home-like environment for individuals who have suffered a life-changing injury. They care for residents emotionaly, physically and psychologically while they recover. The care staff is trained in the specialized care of these residents and offers and alternative for young adults who are working toward independence.
An excellent rehab facility for young adults that aims to make residents feel at home. Residents can participate in a wide variety of activities and rehabilitate for a few years before transitioning back to the community . Administration is focused a great deal on resident care and there is less emphasis on productivity and numbers here. Residents get a lot of personal attention and care. It feels more like a family environment than an institution. Residents typically have great success gaining independence post spinal cord injury and returning to the community successfully.
It is a standalone Skilled Nursing Facility for young adults with spinal cord injury. I love caring for these residents, however as with any other facility we have our ups and downs as far as Administration goes but at the end of the day our common goal is to make our residents able and not idle. If you're lucky enough to obtain a bed here I suggest that you fully go for it !!
