My husband has been to many karate schools over the years and even a few now with our older daughter. . But none like Satori.
They set themselves apart from other schools we have seen.
They’re very attentive with their students, they teach with positive attitudes & positive reinforcement for doing well & a gentle stern correction when they fall out of line.

We very much appreciate the way they teach. But I think their #1 leg up on the competition is their instructors. The Sempai’s & Shihans we have met are all amazing friendly supportive & best of all career teachers. They love their jobs and it shows.
Shihan Nancy has found the recipe for success by keeping everyone super happy super focused & above all motivated.

My seven year old daughter attends Satori Academy on Staten Island for more than 5 months now, and it's been an incredible experience. The instructors are highly skilled and patient, creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all levels.
What I particularly appreciate is how well Sempai Edwin and Sempai Jen handle each child's unique personalities.
I can't recommend this school enough!

My 3 year old loves it! The instructors are so good with getting little ones to pay attention and focus, I can see mine gaining confidence with each class. We’re looking forward to sticking with it and seeing the progress.

What a pleasure it is to have my daughter attend satori. My daughter was 2 1/2 years old when I put her here and she really loves it until this day. She is now more disciplined, humbled and looks forward to going to class.
I highly recommend it here and everyone that works here is so lovely and attending to the kids.

I have all three of my children enrolled (ages 11, 9 and 3) AND we live in Brooklyn. I know there are a lot of qualified reputable dojos in Bk that would make my commute easier but Satori has been nothing short of amazing for us. My children LOVE Sempai Edwin, Sempai Cameron, Shihan Nancy and Shihan Torie like family. The instructors demand respect and are firm on them, but are also kind, compassionate, and understanding. My boys have 3 very different personalities and learning styles and each of them are flourishing with confidence since we began a few months ago. As for the admin aspects, Satori is transparent and clear with expectations, has open lines of communication, and responds to questions within a day if not sooner. In regards to other students, my kids have gained many new friends! Every child has been helpful, kind, and even apologetic if they think they’ve accidentally hurt someone. Parents alike are friendly and welcoming. And last, in regards to curriculum, I love that Satori offers the students activities and opportunities both inside and outside of the Dojo. On top of learning mixed martial arts and Ju Jitsu, they are encouraged to engage with the community, join Satori social events, and keep up with their education. You can’t go wrong with this academy!
