Ted is amazing ! Spent about an hour with me answering any questions in full detail and adding much more information than requested which is what makes it an amazing visit ! I can tell Ted is doing this because he loves it and thats what its all about ! Come get your visit on ! Very knowledgable . Lots of history within !
Ted is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the rocks and minerals , in the hour I spent in the store I learned so much!!! Awesome awesome place with amazing stuff! Couldn’t believe all of that was under my feet!
Ted met me and my brother by appointment, and he came and took us in his shop early. He taught us about the history of the area and mines. Different types of minerals. His examples are beautiful and prices are good deals. We had a really fun time talking and searching the bins, looking over the displays that were professionally labelled. Hes a concerned local and collector and hosts a spot for a local community of collectors. You’ll find nice rocks and enjoy talking and joking. Definitely coming back!
I have known Ted for close to a year and have visited his shop with my family in Franklin, N.J. almost every week (sometimes snow and COVID-19 hampered my visits). The minerals he has on display and for sale at Franklin Mineral Rock and History are by far, some of the absolute best I have ever seen and had the opportunity to handle and inspect before I purchased. There is something for everyone at Franklin Mineral Rock and History, from affordable starter pieces to museum quality specimens. Ted is an honest, fair and educated gentleman who knows his mineral specimens from the district (he grew up there, his family worked in the mines, his history goes way back). If you want something to do in Sussex County, if you want to bring your children to a place where they can come away with meaningful treasure and piece of New Jersey History - take the time to visit his shop in Franklin, N.J. No funny business, fair, honest, educated - you can't go wrong with Ted and his store!
Had a great experience visiting the store. The owner Ted was very nice and was willing to share lots of mining history and information about his products.
The store offers a lot of minerals from beginner to advanced collector.
