Frank's in Budd Lake is nestled behind Burger King off Rte 46 & Naughright Rd, but is worth the trip into this empty strip mall.
I was greeted warmly and immediately and I was asked how hot I wanted my slice - a RARE touch of customer service. When my 'warm but not too hot' slice came out, the temp was just right! The crust was NYC thin and crispy, but not floppy! Haven't found that in NJ very much - well done.
The sauce had a nice flavor to it, but it didn't speak to me immediately. There could have been more cheese, but it had a good consistency and let the sauce come thru. The pepperoni was clearly fresh, though not as spicy as I like it - but I could add to it with the wide array of spices available!
A good slice with strong service and the ability to make it as flavorful as you like.
