There is no more enchanting shop. Dean has collected only the most beautiful items for this store. And there needs to be a better name than “store” or “shop”. Experience is the word I’m looking for. Globetrotter is an experience. You will leave lighter + happier + owning something that brings joy.

If you are down the Jersey shore...This place is AMAZING! Give yourself time to take it all in. The owner, Dean has traveled extensively and has brought back some exquisite pieces from all over the world. The store itself is art- what a treat! Make sure you stop by!💗

Beautiful Store with incredible stock . I found the owner very engaging. And he does take a lot of Pride to find the Best to showcase in his Store . There are so many goodies to see . I didn’t find it a bother to ask the owner what the Prices were. Go to any high quality store and you have to ask .. The owner’s name if you ask him is Dean . ♥️

Very interesting place. It's like a museum. Dean has an eclectic and tasteful selection of unique goods from all over the world. As an artist, I thoroughly enjoyed walking around and seeing the massive number of items he had accumulated. Many things are original works of art, while others are mass produced.

I was, as others have said, instructed not to touch anything and rather to take pictures of anything I was interested in and show them to him. As a ceramicist with extensive knowledge of market trends, I do know that I was quoted some pretty unreasonable prices for some of the items I inquired about, which Dean was not willing to negotiate.

I agree with others in that I do feel I made a mistake in being honest and telling him where I was coming from (San Francisco) and what I do for a living (tech) because he definitely quoted me somewhat unfair prices for the slipcast (easily manufactured,) ceramic work I was interested in.

In the end however, I was interested in many items and I did make a purchase - I am also an eclectic collector of art from around the world and I understand how much of an investment Dean has made in curating and acquiring his terrific collection - the shipping of these items from literally all over the world certainly cost him many tens of thousands of dollars.

Overall, I felt that the premium I paid for the single item I bought was justified in that as a result of my admission to the store, I spent well over an hour perusing his museum-quality collection of decor, sculpture, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and so much more. I must have looked at several thousand items, without exaggeration.

I particularly enjoyed the extremely deliberate symmetrical arrangement and color-based grouping of many items, as well as the plaques engraved with some of Dean's favorite literary quotes.

We've passed Globetrotter hundreds of times and were always amazed at the extensive pottery arranged around the exterior. We stopped in to purchase some planters for our home and wanted to go inside to see more. Dean opened the door and we were shocked to see an amazing curation of decorative home items from over 45 different countries all arranged in different vignettes. It was amazing...sort of museum meets home decor. Worth a stop in, but take your time...so much to look at and absorb.
