Gratefull for all tne teachers and administrators hard work and dedication. They have become family to us and will be sorely missed after my son graduates. I can not say enough good things about this program.
I couldn’t say anymore positive things about Hampton Academy. My son has finally found a place where he can not only feel himself but get the appropriate education suited best for him. Both the director and staff have been so helpful to my son and myself.
One of the best alternative schools in NJ. I have worked with children with behavioral and mental health issues for 30 years in the juvenile court and in education. I have worked closely with practically every juvenile program in the court system and almost every alternative educational setting in the state as well. I have found the school staff be extremely student centered, caring and compassionate. The facility is clean and welcoming. The social workers are committed to helping children and supporting families. Hampton Academy over my career helped over 50 students in my district achieve their high school diploma. Students who would have never achieved that milestone without the support of the program they offer and their dedicated staff. I was just at the school with a parent, potential students a family support coordinator this month touring the program, meeting staff and speaking to current students. We were there a few hours and our experience and observations could not have been more positive.
I was in Hampton end of 07-11 and I had mostly no complaints! Only thing that really got to me was being talked to like a toddler by some of the teachers. That was my only complaint but at the same time I understood it because 80% of the students there were reactive towards tone and mannerisms. But the plus side for me was meeting people from all different walks of life and making some crazy cool ass friends. Some of the best times were when Hampton had the basketball team. We went 10-3 before I graduated and I’m sure I led the team in block and rebounds. I need to stop playing around and visit there again. Hampton overall made me enjoy school as a whole not because of all the fights as entertainment but a lot of those teachers and aides were engaging and kept my attention. I didn’t think I’d ever find teachers like that but in that small building they made a difference. I miss you Hampton! Maybe just maybe they should have some former students come back and speak to the newer generation.
