Bought skis and had a great day.
Could be nice but even with good conditions the trails are in terrible shape. Plus, they doubled the trail fee for 2025 to $25. An insane price for what is being offered. Trails are not even patched and groomed daily.
Don‘t go if you are serious about XC skiing. You will be disappointed, ruin your equipment and dodge rocks and asphalt patches more than actually skiing.
For those among us who have found x-country skiing a serene experience "far from the madding crowd," High Point offers skiers and snowshoers a very nice variety of trails with scenic views and well groomed surfaces suitable for almost every level of winter enthusiast.
The Nature Interpretative Center is an inviting, cozy spot to relax, purchase and rent equipment and the staff is knowledgeable and committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere. Easily accessible from the metropolitan area, High Point X-Country makes me wish we had a true winter culture with abundant snow so the season could last longer!
Great trails to xc ski and super friendly staff. Trails are groomed and maintained extremely well even considering the fact that NJ snow and weather is very poor. Good variety of difficulty and distance of trails with nice scenery. The negative reviews on here seem like they are due to unforeseen circumstances or personal error (forgetting to collect personal collateral for rentals). I’ve never had any issues whatsoever and it’s my favorite and best xc ski center, in my opinion, within a few hours of NYC.
Great snow (6 Feb 2021), full coverage and nicely tracked trails. The area groomed for skate skiing wasn't very smooth on Scenic View Trail and Cedar Swamp Trail due to the number of people skiing/beginners crashing. Social distancing was observed. Park was full by probably 11am and there was a very long line for rentals prior to that. Staff was very friendly and helpful in communicating where to go and that rentals were running out. If you can bring your own equipment on weekends you will save a lot of time. Great area to ski and beautiful trails on a lake and through the woods. Beginner friendly, didn't get to any harder trails so can't speak for them. Definitely would ski here again.
