A most excellent diner! The service is fast and friendly. The menu is literally a book, so yes, you will find many things to try. When you try, you will not be disappointed. Each dish is prepared tastefully, with care, and portions are very generous. Of course there is breakfast all day! And before you go, don’t forget to select a dessert from the many sweets, rotating inside the glass display case!
Best diner in North Jersey! More food than you can eat, so be prepared to take some home. Try the Reuben or the GIANT French toast.
They're all about Google pic views (see attached), so get some eyeballs on this one and let's rack it up!
Stopped here on a road trip for a late night dinner. Atmosphere was awesome from the decor to the music. Everything youd expect from a diner. Huge menu with a ton of options. Had the Greek pasta and it came out in a pot. It was good, perfect comfort food. Id stop again if I was in the area.
Have been coming to this place for the last 20 years. Never a miss. Never a bad meal. Always cozy atmosphere! It’s been a while since our last time here since we moved, but last night my son and i decided to grab a late night snack!
I must add that the diner is next door to the Tavern and shares menu and drinks.
Place is very big and typically you will find a seat!
Menu is HUGE and it would take me years to try all of it - but they have options for each meal of the day and each taste and diet…
I opted for a crock of chilly - always a sure win and buffalo chicken wrap. My son had chicken noodle soup (which was huge) and a cheese steak. Comes well equipped with fries of your choice, coleslaw and a tasty pickle…
Over the years - calamari, nachos, wings, gyros and buffalo chicken salad - have all been our family favorites. Deserts (if you have room left) are always great!!!
Tons of parking, high chairs for kids, right off rt 15 - access from either side.
If you want a traditional Greek Diner NJ experience - they are one of the best (and i have been to ALOT of diners)
Stopped in for breakfast with my elderly grandmother, who uses a wheelchair, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They immediately found us a table that made her dining experience more comfortable, which I really appreciated.
The overall atmosphere of the Jefferson Diner is warm and inviting, with a classic diner look and a large menu that includes plenty of dietary options—always a plus. I ordered an orange juice, coffee, a crock of French onion soup, and a Reuben sandwich.
Most of the meal was solid—the coffee and Reuben were both satisfying, and everyone else at the table seemed happy with their dishes. The only miss for me was the French onion soup. It arrived with two slices of cheese draped over the top that were more burnt than melted. The broth, which I think is the heart of any French onion soup, lacked depth and tasted watered down. It was also topped with fried onion strands that ended up tough and stringy—not a great combination.
That said, I chalked it up to ordering soup early in the day and probably should’ve stuck with breakfast. Despite the soup, the service and overall experience were still positive enough that I’d definitely consider giving it another shot.
