A decent sushi option for the area, but there are some operational issues and value concerns that keep it from being rated higher. The service was friendly overall, but the logistics and pricing need work.
At over 4 dollars per plate, the pricing feels a bit steep for the quality. Since it is a flat rate, paying the same for Tamago as you would for Tuna feels unbalanced, and the fish slices were on the smaller side. Compared to nearby options like H Mart or Mitsuwa in Edgewater, the value proposition isn't quite there yet.
A few points for management to look into:
1. We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not full, yet we were told it would be a 10-to-15-minute wait. It was confusing to see empty tables while waiting for a confirmed reservation.
2. We asked to sit at the handicap-accessible table but were told we couldn't because the conveyor belt doesn't actually work for that spot. This is a significant oversight as the revolving experience should be available to everyone. Having a designated table that is effectively unusable for the main attraction needs to be addressed.
3. We were not told until we asked, but apparently you have to order a drink just to get wasabi. It would be much better to have this explained upfront.
4. The ordering screens are mounted very high, which makes it uncomfortable to navigate the menu throughout the meal.
The staff is nice, but the layout and some of the policies make the experience less seamless than it should be for the price. With a few adjustments to the seating flow and accessibility, this could be a stronger spot.
First time here and had a good experience. You order everything on a tablet, drinks are brought by a little robot (love that). Everything you order comes down the side. They also have other food options you can grab anytime off of the conveyor belt.
Delicious, clean, and super accommodating! Charboiled mackerel is my favorite, and they served it MILES better than the Edison location. My only complaint is, aside from the bill, they should have warmed the butter cake, but that's on me for not asking the server. This'll definitely be our go to location when my bf and I are in the area 😁💕
We wanted to try this new restaraunt that is now a sushi bar that replaced hooters. We were quite surprised of how the setting was. We werent sure what to order so we tried a few items. Each order is about $4. You can order thru the screen and pick up something on the revolving belt.There is a robot that brings food and drinks.
Kura Princeton had its grand opening today at noon, and I happened to be the first person in line. My wife and I went in right at 12 p.m. for lunch. The staff greeted us warmly in Japanese, and we could tell they had hired a large and diverse team. Everyone was kind and did their best to welcome guests on their very first day. As expected with an opening, there were a few hiccups. The menu selection felt a bit limited, and some of the items we ordered took quite a while to arrive. Their touchscreen ordering system also seemed to be having issues, so I assume they are still testing and fine-tuning everything. That said, the food itself was enjoyable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and it is exciting to have a place like this in our area. Despite the first-day bumps, we still had a good experience overall, and I'm looking forward to returning once they settle into their rhythm.
