We recently entrusted Layton Funeral Home with arranging the interment of our son’s cremains, and we are deeply grateful for their compassionate and professional service. From our first contact, Mr. George Layton showed genuine empathy, noting carefully our wishes, answering our questions-and promptly- and guiding us through the process with patience and a caring attitude. The arrangements were handled with the utmost respect and attention to detail.
He took the time to ensure that aspects of the interment reflected our son’s memory and our family’s preferences, from the selection of the urn’s placement in our family cemetery plot to holding a small, meaningful interment at the grave.
We want to thank the Laytons for helping us give our son a respectful “rest”, and arranging a beautiful, serene, and loving place with his forebears.
George Layton was very kind and professional. Some of these reviews are critical to the historic nature of the facility. I'm sorry they didn't appreciate what i found comforting. Antique light fixtures, original wood flooring all very clean and lovingly maintained and ready very literally at a moments notice. Sadly, Layton is one of four funeral homes i have worked with this year. Mr Layton's professionalism, kindness, historic setting and a brief visit from his four legged business partner were very comforting in our time of grief. My favorite funeral home this year.
We love George! Absolutely fantastic to work with! We've worked with this father-son duo for years, and years to come! They know our property well, they are efficient, friendly, and are amazing to work with. Our members appreciate them as well.
Nice fellow answers the door. The place is shabby, in need of repairs. Everywhere stuff is laying around, the shrubbery needs tending, the sign needs repainting. I wondered if there were a problem. Made a sad day sadder. Sorry, would not recommend.
PROS: This is a very historic home. Build over 100 years ago, it may make a perfect place to visit the deceased in. The guy running it may be very quiet, but he is nice. There are many of caskets to choose from, and they prepared the body very well. The pricing was as usual and everything we did with him he organized for us.
CONS: This place is very tiny! The rooms are small and the place is to old which results in creaking which could become annoying. In the wake room, it smelt like mildew and there was unused furniture pushed up against the wall. The parking lot wasn't to big, so there would be trouble finding parking if there's a big showing
OVERALL: The guy is very nice, prices are accurate, and everything was dealt with smoothly, but the building is not fit to be a good place to hold something this important. I suggest looking at a home that is at least younger than you and kept up right.
