Highly recommend! The one day retreat is wonderful to practice meditating techniques as well as enhance your practice. Even if one has never meditated before, the one day retreat is a perfect first step. Venerable Bhante Ransi and the staff are very patient and kind. This place is a great resource to further your meditation and or Theravada Buddhist practices. It felt like I found a spiritual home.
This was my first meditation retreat and it was very well done! When one hears of a “day long meditation” retreat it can sound intimidating but all the different meditation styles were nicely spaced out so it was not overwhelming. Very good introduction for those wanting to get into meditation. I also learned some buddhist principles along with the meditation techniques that i now try to follow in my day to day life. This meditation retreat has truly enriched my life and I plan to come back soon!
Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend a one-day meditation retreat under the guidance of Venerable Bhante Ransi. It was my first time meditating in a group and also my first time learning directly from a Buddhist monk. I was truly moved by the entire experience.
Bhante shared the teachings in such a simple, clear, and compassionate way that I could easily understand and connect with them. I’ve already started applying what I learned during the retreat in my daily life, and it has brought me a sense of calm and mindfulness.
The arrangements throughout the day were excellent - from the peaceful environment to the kindness of the volunteers and the delicious food that was lovingly prepared. Bhante continues to offer guidance even after the retreat, answering questions and helping deepen my understanding of the Dhamma, for which I am very grateful.
May this temple, Bhante, and all the volunteers be blessed with peace, happiness, and abundant merits for the wonderful work they do in spreading the Dhamma.
I recently went to my first day long meditation retreat here in New Brunswick, NJ. I'm new in my meditation practice and the experience was more than I had ever imagined. I truly found so much more than just guidance in practice. Ven Bhanti Ransi is such an amazing teacher!! His way of guiding and teaching made me so much more comfortable in my lack of knowledge and confidence in my meditation experience. He more than once, encouraged us to be patient and to continue to practice. It won't always be easy, but it will be worth it, is one of the messages that I took away. In addition, I had reached out afterwards to share my experience and to say, " Thank You". I never expected to get such a response with much more guidance and answering the questions I had (that I hadn't even had a chance to ask yet). Lastly, I must mention the food! I went in expecting sandwiches, (not that there's anything wrong with that! I love a good sandwich!) but there was a whole spread of amazing food! I'm looking forward to when my schedule allows me to get back!! Thank you again Bhanti Ransi and also to the great volunteers! I truly feel like I found something, that I hadn't realized I needed in such a way.
I had the privilege of learning from Monk here, a remarkable monk who guided me on a transformative journey towards happiness and compassion let me tell you i am still new but i know this is the path . His teachings on meditation were profound, enabling me to cultivate a genuine sense of kindness and love towards myself and others. His wisdom and guidance have not only deepened my understanding of mindfulness but have also enriched my daily life. His patient and gentle demeanor created a supportive environment where I felt encouraged to explore and develop these essential qualities. I am immensely grateful for the invaluable lessons I've learned from him, and I wholeheartedly recommend his teachings to anyone seeking to embark on a path of self-discovery and personal growth.
