My mom, Jean Wechselberger, has been a resident at Medford Care Center—now The Pines at Medford—since August 2024.
From the moment I first toured the facility, I knew it was the right place for her. The staff is incredibly kind, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to the well-being of their residents. Two people who have made an especially meaningful difference are Sue Graubart in the Business Office and Tierra Strothers in Admissions. They were instrumental in helping us secure Medicaid approval and making sure my mom was cared for emotionally and physically during an extremely difficult time.
When my mom suffered her stroke, I had only a short window to gather documents, establish POA, and manage her transition. Sue and Tierra guided me through every step with patience, compassion, and professionalism. They went above and beyond—offering not just logistical support, but emotional support as well. I will always be grateful for the comfort and reassurance they gave me then, and continue to give now.
Thanks to them, my mom feels loved, safe, and truly at home in her new environment, which is priceless to me. They have consistently been friendly, responsive, and caring, and they truly represent the heart of The Pines at Medford.
Their kindness radiates throughout the entire facility—from Joyce and Heather at the front desk to the nurses, aides, and housekeeping staff. Everyone treats my mom with warmth and respect, taking the time to make her feel like more than just a resident.
Thank you to the entire team at The Pines at Medford, and a very special thank-you to Sue and Tierra. Your compassion has made all the difference for my mom and our family.
I recently had my 98 yrs old mother a respite stay at Medford Care and unlike my past experiences with them (6 stays) this stay (4 nights) was major disappointment. First, and most importantly, she was not given her medications as required and some (which we sent unopened) were still unopened when we picked her up. This clearly meant she wasn't cared for as promised. Secondly, we sent a new bed pad with cloth handles to facilitate changing her as she is bedridden. This item was not returned when we picked her and we were told it has been misplaced. Since August 5th, numerous calls have been made to ask for the return or replacement of this item. Every time I call, they are still "looking for it" or they permission from their Administrator to replace it. Nobody calls back with any answers. It has been very frustrating. If this stay was for free, I certainly couldn't complain, but for $350/night, I think I should expect better care and/or service.
