Absolutely nothing but great things to say about Dr Almallah and the staff that work there. Nice man very caring, outstanding doctor. Gave me some advice on my left eye because it had previous damage in it to make sure nothing went wrong. Both eyes had cataracts got the left one done first. Came in a week later for a checkup looking like a pirate and he asked when the next surgery was scheduled for and I told him about three weeks. He just said no you can't go around like this for another three weeks. He walked into the scheduling room and got me in three days later. I've worn glasses for 50 years and this is the first time I haven't needed them. Both eyes are perfect, the care was outstanding, same accolades for the people work there. Again, can't say enough great things. Thank you Dr Almallah.
I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Omar Almallah at SiteMD in Toms River, NJ. My first visit went extremely well and Dr. Almallah seemed pleasant. I originally came in because of a persistent floater. During that visit, I was told I had a cataract and that surgery should be scheduled. I completed all required pre-surgery clearances and was scheduled for surgery the following week.
At my pre-surgery appointment for premium IOL measurements, I asked whether the cataract surgery would also address the floater—the reason for my initial visit. The staff was excellent and told me the doctor would come in to discuss it.
When Dr. Almallah entered, the experience changed immediately. He became visibly irritated the moment I asked about the floater. His exact tone was, “Is it your cataract or the floater we’re talking about? You’re all over the place.” I explained that I never knew I had a cataract until he told me, and that my question was simply whether the cataract surgery would help with the floater. His answer was essentially no, and that it would “eventually move out of my vision.”
When I asked why he was getting upset over basic questions, he responded by telling me he has performed over 45,000 cataract surgeries and that I could see another doctor if I wanted or go Google it! At that point, I told him I was no longer comfortable proceeding and would be cancelling the surgery. My wife and I were genuinely stunned by his behavior.
We returned to the finance office to request a refund of my $4,150 out-of-pocket payment for the premium IOL. The refund was processed immediately without any issue. I want to be clear: the staff and office team were outstanding—professional, courteous, and understanding. My concern is solely with Dr. Almallah’s attitude and conduct during what should have been a routine conversation about my care.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Almallah.
Terrific! Surgery went off without a hitch. It's like a whole new world. Everyone was professional. Would definitely recommend. Doctor Almallah was personable and knew his stuff
Dr. Almallah was absolutely wonderful! He was beyond thorough and explained my situation in a way I could understand. Went over what was wrong and what my options were for cataract surgery. He also gave me a brief synopsis of his impressive resume. Glad to hear that he has had almost 5,000 successful surgeries. And of course his bedside manner was superb. Thankyou thankyou thankyou ! Can’t say enough positive things about doctor, staff, and provided support! You are all appreciated. Thanks for settling my nerves! 😬
