We had a great 4 mile hike, going on the orange trail to Bear Rock, then across on the yellow dot trail and blue dot trail to Lucy's overlook and Tripod Rock, then back via the summit on the blue trail. We were just able to make out the NYC skyline from the summit. The glacial erratics are definitely worth the visit! Trails were well marked and maintained, and completely in the shade. The steeper sections were all manageable with reasonable footwear. We had no problem finding parking before 9am on a Sunday, but the lot was full when we were leaving around 11:30am. Note that the trails have changed fairly recently - my 5-year old NJ hiking guidebook was incorrect as were the trails shown by the Hiking Project. So make sure to look at the up-to-date map at the trailhead!
The hike up the mountain was very easy, there are some bumpy parts, but the views are spectacular
Nice place and some places are bumpy. Make sure you have the map if you are hiking for the first time. We had lost for a while and took more than a hour to find back our path. So I have added the maps here
Great trails very well kept. One of the nicer trails in the county. Definitely worth exploring.
Beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Gentle but slightly challenging trails with great views, diverse plants, body of water and lots of rocks, boulders... certainly worth a visit and a hike
