Staff was very friendly and answers all of my questions about the hot food that I wanted to try. Also let me sample a few things I’ve never tried, before i ordered lunch. They had no pricing anywhere, so you don’t know what anything costs until you ask. Non of the hot menus items were labeled, so you know what they are. I was handed an order form (no prices) once I asked, with food names, which was for takeout or catering. Counter guy told me they have a hot meal combo with 2 entree items and white rice. I ordered pork barbecue skewer and a cut up beef dish with a dark sauce. Pork barbecue was delicious, but only one skewer. The beef dish was in a half pint cup and was dry and chewy. Circle cup of rice was enough.. $16 is a little pricy for that amount of food I think. Next time I’d get 4 pork bbq skewers on a plate for $3.50 each The place has a lot of prepped food in the fridge cases to go and lots of grocery items. I took home some sweetened purple rice with coconut on top (Puto bung bong). I ate it for breakfast almost everyday, when I was in Taguytay this past January and I hope it will be good. I’ll go back because everyone was so friendly, helped me with recommendations on hot food and let me try things. I’ll just look out for any dish that looks dry and avoid it. It’s definitely authentic compared to what I ate in the Philippians. Just take your time if you go there and ask a lot of questions before you order is my recommendation.
Love this place. Kuya Dodong is very friendly and helpful. The food is a little bit pricey but overall the new place looks nice and clean. If craving for Filipino food and snacks this is a good place and has more choices.
Toothsome cuisine in an unexpected setting
This review will strictly be in regards to the deli/cafeteria section of the store (the grocery store is a bit pricey). We didn't know what to expect when we came here, we simply heard from some friends that this place serves delicious Filipino food & those friends were right. We went up to the counter & asked for whatever the employee recommended & he gave us each a combo that came with rice & two protein choices. The employee was very kind & answered all of our questions & the price of the food was extremely reasonable. When we sat down & ate the food, we were amazed at how delicious it was. We also tried their banana turon which was also cheap & also delicious. We are very excited to come back here!
Delicious authentic Filipino food! We ordered Dinuguan, Pork Sisig, Kare Kare with a size of shrimp paste and Papaitan with garlic rice. Everything was so good! The staff is nice and the food is a great price. The store beside the restaurant is a plus too! They’ve got good authentic Filipino snacks and groceries!
