We decided to try Rumba Cubana in Rochelle Park. We called ahead to make a reservation, but they told us it was first come, first serve. Luckily, we only waited about five minutes to be seated. The place is very cozy, beautifully decorated, and has a great ambiance.

For appetizers, we had the “Rumberito,” which is a nice sampler of different appetizers, and the bacon-wrapped yuca, which was delicious.

For the main course, we tried the “Churrasco Rumbero” and a dish called “Poquito de Todo,” which included lechón, arroz moro, ropa vieja, and other tasty sides. Everything was very flavorful and reasonably priced.

We had a child with us who ordered the “gallinita ciega,” which is basically chicken with rice and beans, and he loved it.

For dessert, the tres leches and coconut flan were spectacular. The only downside was the chocolate lava cake, which wasn’t warm enough and didn’t have the molten center you’d expect.

One small drawback is that parking can be tricky. You either have to use the valet parking or find street parking nearby, which can be a bit of a challenge.

Overall, it was a very positive experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! Thanks

We started with a Rumberito appetizer and calamari which were both delicious. I’m a sauce person and they were not holding back on extra sauce. Everything tasted fresh. We shared the snapper which was good, but could’ve used a little bit more seasoning. We had an old-fashioned cocktails and they were strong and made perfectly. For dessert we had tres leches, which was also delicious. Our servers were very attentive and came around the whole night to make sure we were well taken care of. They played good music, so I wish there would’ve been an area for dancing. All in all our food and the atmosphere was great.

I have been to this location several times and everything has always been exceptional. Service has been quick and atmosphere great. Today we came for Sunday brunch and we ordered a bowl with lechon, hash breakfast all was excellent. Would come back and recommend
