I went with a group of seven friends this past Sunday. Our reservation was for 7 PM. My friends arrived on time and were seated right away, while I was coming from two hours away and didn’t get there until about 7:40. The kitchen was closing at 9, but we placed our orders shortly after I arrived.
When the food came out, the order was already mixed up. They brought my pizza to the table and then immediately took it back without clearly explaining why. The whole interaction felt confusing and unorganized.
For the prices they charge, the food was honestly very average. The vodka gnocchi had almost no flavor, and the chicken dishes my friends ordered were chewy and nearly impossible to cut. I also ordered the burrata pizza, which was the best thing I tried, but still nothing special.
What really bothered us was how rushed everything felt. The staff collected our plates extremely quickly once we finished, and at 9:10 we were asked to leave because the restaurant closed at 9. From my experience in the food industry, asking customers to leave only minutes after closing is unprofessional, especially when we spent over $230.
To make things worse, about 3–4 hours after eating, both my friend and I experienced stomach cramps and nausea. It made us feel like the food may have been rushed or not handled properly.
I had high hopes for this place, but between the service, the lackluster food quality, and the unprofessionalism at closing, I won’t be returning.
If I could I would give more than 5 stars. I hosted my daughter’s bridal shower. Guests (I had 46) can’t stop raving about the food and service. Large portions of food. Everything was great from start to finish, From booking my event , all the many communication texts and phone calls with Joe with questions I had. All were answered promptly. The event was perfect. We had the salad, calamari, pizza, chicken parm, gnocchi chicken cutlet and lemon sole. Cannolis and cookies were delicious!! Joe also connected me with someone to get chocolate treats delivered. They were delicious!
I would highly recommend hosting an event here. It is a great private space and the added plus- a parking lot. So many guests said they are going to come here for dinner now that they know it is here. I think it would be a great place to come with a group of friends or family on any night for dinner , not just an event. I will be back! If you book your party here you can have total confidence it will be a good one. BYOB !
We recently had San Giuseppe’s cater an 80 person event for us in Jersey City and the experience was excellent. We had regularly ordered takeout at San Giuseppe’s but this was our first catering experience. From the initial contact with Giuseppe to the day of delivery, everything was organized and incredibly easy to work with. Our guests all raved about the food and friends local to Hoboken will be putting San Giuseppe’s in their restaurant rotation. Giuseppe made recommendations and provided guidance on what to add or substitute to ensure we have a good spread of food as he has lots of experience on feeding that many people. We will definitely be using them again for future events!
We hosted my baby shower here for about 30 guests over the weekend, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make the day seamless and special. They allowed us to arrive early to set up, bring our own decorations, and even create a gift and mimosa table, which made the space feel so personal.
The staff was incredibly accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process and during the event itself. The owner communicated promptly and helped us customize the menu, even making adjustments for a guest with celiac disease. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting both.
Having on-site parking was also a huge plus, especially for an event with so many out-of-town guests. Overall, the experience was smooth, flexible, and truly enjoyable. I can’t recommend them enough for private events or special gatherings!!
We recently hosted a family event here, and everything was absolutely perfect! It was a truly wonderful evening and everyone raved about the delicious food. The garlic knot meatball sliders and the chicken burrata were definite crowd favorites! Whether you’re dining in or ordering delivery, the food is consistently fantastic. Plus, there’s convenient customer parking, which made things even easier for our guests. Highly recommend for both everyday meals and special occasions!
