We visited Shayona Cafe right after touring the beautiful Hindu temple (which is definitely worth a visit!). The restaurant opens at 11 AM and there was already a long line forming outside. That’s usually a good sign!
One thing I really liked — ordering is done through kiosks.
No pressure trying to pronounce dish names I’m not familiar with, and everything is clearly displayed with pictures and descriptions. Once you finish ordering, the kiosk tells you exactly which station to pick up your food from. Super organized and easy to understand. You still pay at the counter since some items are self-serve, but the flow is smooth and friendly.
We ordered two items:
🍕 Shayona Signature Pizza
→ WOW. This pizza was seriously soooo good. The pesto sauce, the marinated cottage cheese, and the slightly crispy crust all worked perfectly together. I would come back just for this.
🥟 Samosa Chaat
→ Also tasty! Warm samosa topped with chutneys and yogurt — flavorful, tangy, and very filling.
Everything here is vegetarian and fresh, and the prices are reasonable. If you're visiting the temple, you should absolutely stop by this restaurant. Actually… even if you’re not visiting the temple, still come for the pizza. You won’t regret it! 😄
Don’t forget to stop by the small market right next door.
They have all kinds of Indian snacks and sweets — perfect for trying something new or bringing a few treats home!
The food is reasonable for the price.
Very flavorful and it's convenient that it's right there inside the temple complex.
Many tables in the seating area, so even when it's busy doesn't feel overcrowded.
The order and pickup system can be a little confusing, but other than that we had a good experience and will come back.
Shayona Cafe is nestled within the vibrant atmosphere of Windsor, and is the part of BAPS.
This all-vegetarian eatery offers a delightful array of North and South Indian dishes that cater to a variety of palates. The unique cafeteria-style setup allows you to order at kiosks, picking up your meal from designated counters, ensuring a streamlined dining experience.
Signature Dishes are Khaman Chaat, Chilli Paneer, and an enticing selection of pizzas, including the Spicy Paneer Tikka.
A great variety of beverages, such as exotic drinks like Turmeric Drink, Mango Lassi, and Lemon Fennel Drink.
This is the place to try flavorful, freshly prepared meals that impress even the most discerning palates.
Whether you’re after a quick takeout or a sit-down meal, Shayona Cafe promises a delightful culinary journey inspired by traditional Indian flavors.
Restrooms on premisses.
Food is strictly okay for the price paid.
What's not okay is the long lines at the stations, no proper signage in the cafeteria and limited seating.
Most first time visitors were asking around for directions on what to do with the receipt taken from ordering on the kiosks.
Seating can be hard to find, especially on weekends.
The flow goes so:
1. Order food at the kiosk as soon as you enter the cafeteria.
2. Memorize the token number on the receipt if you've ordered food that comes from multiple stations (there are 4).
3. Stand in the queue at each station, show the receipt or tell out the token number to collect the food.
4. Pay for the food while exciting the stations and entering the seating area.
There are ready-to-eat options like fried rice, spring rolls, samosas and drinks by the aisles if waiting is not your thing. Just pick them up and pay at the counter.
I had an amazing experience at Shayona Cafe! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. As a vegetarian, I truly appreciated the variety of dishes available, each prepared with authentic taste and high-quality ingredients. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the staff was courteous and attentive. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a wholesome meal, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good vegetarian food!
