I really love the YMCA gym and overall experience. I especially enjoy working with my trainer, Debbie, who I see once a week for strength training she’s fantastic. I also love taking yoga classes at the gym. My only suggestions would be opening a bit earlier and closing later, and offering some sunrise classes. Thank you for providing such a welcoming and supportive space!
I usually go to the Summit Y, but the South Amboy Branch YMCA blew me away! Super friendly staff, spotless facilities, and a great selection of programs. The community vibe here is amazing — you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Worth going out of my way to visit!
This review is for the YMCA in South Amboy. I usually don’t leave reviews but it was such a Phenomenal Experience that I just had to. I had a 3 hour party there on Saturday. We did Pool, Gym with Bouncy house, games, soccer, basketball, and more. Then we went to the Party Room to have food and cake.(they have different party packages) Tom and his Team were beyond great, they were so welcoming and was there to help set up and made sure I had everything I needed. The lifeguard was awesome in the Pool! Tom and the Team was very nice to the kids and even played some sports with them. I made sure to tip them and include them with the food etc, everything was perfect! I will recommend 100%. You won’t be disappointed! Customer Service from them all was outstanding! One important thing I forgot to add- the gym, party room and pool were all so spacious!
There was a lack of cleaning supplies. There were no wipes you had to take a napkin or a paper towel and spray it with a cleaner than wipe down. And there were only a few near the paper towels, so you had to do it there and every time you went to wipe something off, you would have to go back there just kind of annoying the treadmills there did not have fans only one did and it was one in the middle. It was a different kind of treadmill, which was weird I did not use the pool so I doubt no about much about that but they-did have one and this y accepts nationwide YMCA membership
Been taking my son here for 2 years. They have by most the best swimming classes out there very satisfied with my child’s progress. Clean environment, friendly staff.
