I have a delightful experience with the community as well as the middlesex mgmt! I moved recently from Chicago to New Jersey and its my first apartment here and the management specially Shawn and the front office agents at the onsite community took great care of me! Also, when I came I wanted a patio included apartment but it was not available at the time of my move so I had to move to a non patio apartment, but just one month after I noticed that a patio apartment has an opening so I requested community manager and middlesex to move me to the patio one and they happily agreed to it. The movement was so smooth and streamlined everybody was really really helpful. This type of experienceI did not get in Chicago anywhere, I am so thankful to the entire team for accommodating my request! Plus this community has amazing facilities and the maintenance is done well, no complaints so far from any perspective. The train station is right adjacent to community which makes it perfect commuter den.

Hi all, I normally do not give written reviews but after living here for 3 years I’d like to educate anyone considering this place on things to have an informed decision.

Pros: I initially liked the location of the complex especially with it being situated in between the garden state and the turn pike, getting around NJ is great. You are also close to a variety of grocery stores and take outs. It’s very convenient to be in arms reach of things if you think of things last minute. The proximity to the train is also pretty convenient if you want to get to NYC or to the airport. Parking spots are assigned. The size is decent.

    Cons:

Management. I think the biggest problem with this complex which you might notice from other reviews is the management. To give you all clarity, the office at the front is the LEASING team and NOT the management team. I think Shawn is a wonderful person on the leasing team and was very approachable and helpful for information. As far as management, I personally also like the other reviewers did not have a good experience with management. I had once got locked out of my place at 9pm and called multiple times, leaving voicemails, text messages, to the management number and was not able to get ahold of anyone. I had asked the security patrolling for some assistance but found out that she is only responsible to keep an eye on issues near the train station and doesn’t really deal with the complex. I found it pretty disappointing that the security patrolling does not even secure the complex which is very misleading. That night I unfortunately had to figure out what to do until the next morning when my roommate was back to let me in. The mail room is also very poorly managed. I had lost over $100 worth on a delivery as the door was not locked and the room was ransacked about a year ago. They have tried to improve this since and are using the lockers more frequently however the door was still accessible to open without a key just before I moved out.

Noise (depending on your unit). I had moved from a block closer to the leasing office to another closer to the train station. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that my window facing the train tracks was actually more of an issue than anticipated. Many NJ train operators honestly have no regard for the time of day and will honk their horn for an unnecessarily long time which often would happen close to midnight when you are trying to sleep. I did adjust to this issue, but I would recommend if you do feel strongly enough about this place, try to choose a unit not facing the train tracks or a block elsewhere.

Neighbors. I unfortunately had a bad experience with neighbors. The unit above me always had a lady stomping on the ground. The tenant below me had this obnoxious subwoofer/base and would frequently blast the music in the evening which was disruptive. I think in this case it’s just bad luck on my part and not the complex.

Overall would I choose this place again? I think so, but definitely a different unit. But if I found another place with a similar price and location and better management, without question I’m not staying here.

I’ve had such a positive experience living at Station Village in Avenel. The leasing staff has been nothing short of amazing – they are professional, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure residents feel taken care of. From the very first tour to move-in and beyond, they’ve made the whole process seamless and stress-free.

The community itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained. Amenities are top-notch, and it really feels like home here. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently, and the management team genuinely cares about the residents’ comfort and satisfaction.

Living here has been a great decision – I would highly recommend Station Village to anyone looking for a welcoming community with an outstanding leasing staff!
