I've deleted my previous 5-star review to reflect more recent experiences over the past year and a half. TCP is a charming local spot with a nice vibe and beautiful location near the trail - perfect for working or relaxing, if you can find a table or parking. Unfortunately, that's become a gamble, especially when traveling 40+ minutes to support this small business that we've loved over the years.
Inside remains consistently chilly, even in cold, rainy weather. On our last visit it was 50 degrees outside, windy, and rainy, yet the AC was blasting with visibly chilled patrons. We opted to sit in a warm car instead of sitting at an empty table - which cleared out when they turned up the AC.
More concerning are the repeated issues with drink preparation - especially regarding dietary restriction and allergies. Over the last 10 months or so, my friends and I have only visited 3 times, and each time there was a problem. Despite reaching out to the owners, the response has been defensive rather than accountable. It's frustrating to watch drinks being made incorrectly, only to be told staff was right. If customers have to throw out pricey drinks due to poor training and quality control, that's an issue.
Wes and Leah offered a free drink if we asked for them directly next time, but that's not a sustainable solution. We shouldn't have to track who's working to ensure our drinks are made safely and correctly (and consistently). On top of that, bitter coffee from an improperly dialed grinder, overly sweet drinks made with visible uncertainty, incorrect charges, and unsanitary handling of cups have made us reconsider. We love the area, and we were one of TCP's first customers back in 2016 when they first opened (Hickey family) - we've loved seeing the pups go through the drive-thru, see the community grow around TCP, but next time, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.
My Choice for my coffee everytime I'm in the area photographing. Pastries are out of this world good. The staff always helpful.
Stopped here during my cycling trip. It was in the morning, the place was packed, mostly drive through customers. Went in thinking that I have to wait awhile. But the gentlemen took my order and it was ready in no time. Egg & cheese on a roll, coffee cake and coffee. Inside was packed so I took it outside and sat on the provided chair. Again great service and great food.
We've been to this coffee shop multiple times, and it never disappoints. My latte is consistently well made. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting, with plenty of seating space available.
The Coffee Potter is an absolute gem with such a cool, welcoming vibe. As a local mortgage lender, I’m always exploring great spots to recommend to clients moving into the area — and this one is at the top of my list. It’s right on the Columbia Trail, making it the perfect stop after a bike ride. We tried the frozen drinks on a hot day and they were excellent. The staff is friendly, upbeat, and really adds to the charm of the place. Highly recommend checking it out whether you’re local or new to town.
