Wantage Liquors

Awesome staff and a great selection! The place is usually a little busy do to it's convenient location but the manager and clerks are all helpful, efficient and always a pleasure!

CAREFUL: CASH-squeezing business.

(But overall - they have very reasonable prices, and very helpful staff. The store is also very well-organized.)

Main point though:
I do not shop there often but almost every time i do - they say that "their card reading machine is not working" because the area (they like to say "area" at large) has internet service down. Or any other excuse to make people pay CASH.

Yesterday, I was picking up rolls at the neighboring store and paid with my card just minutes before I went to check if this store carries non-alcoholic wine.

I woman was leaving the store and said into my direction that they do not take cards, because the reader is not working...

I found that wine and it was cheaper than I normally buy, so I was glad, grabbed two and went to the register. .. only to hear well rehearsed tale of not working card-reader.

I was too tired (and had some cash on me for a change), so I just paid and left. Promising myself to never even walk into that store again.....

Stopped in last night.
Traveled from Florida so was looking to pick up stuff while we were here. The associate was fantastic! Helped me pick out some good local beers.
They have a huge selection there. If you like bourbon, they have plenty to choose from and great prices.

I’ve been coming to this store for years. Felt like they deserved some positive recognition. They typically carry wines or liquors that I can find in bigger stores and they’re prices are always competitive. Today, the gentleman went out of his way to help us when looking for a specific wine that they did not carry- but many stores don’t carry in general.

He looked up similar wines based on ratings and gave recommendations. He apologized for not carrying the hard to find wine that we were looking for. That’s service.

In a world where service seems to be incredibly hard to find these days, it’s refreshing to have someone take the time to help you. I’ve always found that to be the case at Wantage liquors.
