Book sale is excellent! Come a little after it starts for a nice, casual shop.
The librarians are so nice and helpful. Using the online system I can make sure what I want is there and if not they will try add locate it in the system and order it.
I just moved to Waretown recently and it was my first time visiting Waretown library. Much smaller than the Toms River & Brick library where I used to go but the ladies working in the library are very warm and accommodating. They helped out with what I needed and even provided me information that I may need in the future.
I love this branch of the Ocean County Library system 💙 it's my favorite. The people who work there are always pleasant and very helpful.
So I gotta admit, I never liked libraries. To me they were always these repositories for musty books and curmudgeonly old librarians. I was wrong. So wrong.
My quest began with the procurement of a book needed for a project at work. I called ahead to determine whether or not it was available. The woman who answered the phone pleasantly and promptly informed me that it was. So I embarked on my journey over to the Waretown branch to retrieve it.
As I walked in, I was warmly greeted by staff. But I soon realized I had no idea what to do or how to find this. I wandered around like a lost child in a grocery store. Though I kind of enjoyed my meandering. The place felt homey. I half expected my grandmother to jump out around a corner and surprise me with a homebaked apple pie. Not like the libraries I remember. It was warm and well lit and had a lovely presence to it.
Not long into my roving did a lovely young woman Melissa (whom I might add was rocking some serious Star Wars Rebel bling on her lanyard, big points in my book) took pity upon me and kindly asked if I needed assistance with anything. Like a man dying of thirst in the desert I quickly accepted her magnanimous offer and thus began my education in the ways of the library.
Not only did she help me get setup with a library card, she showed me how to locate and check out my book AND she introduced me to a multitude of other services the library had to offer that I had NO CLUE even existed. She took time out of her busy day to make me feel welcome and taught me things I had been completely ignorant of, all the while greeting other patrons by their names as we strolled along. I felt like I was a member of an exclusive club. Never once have I experienced such stellar customer service AND I WASNT EVEN PAYING FOR ANYTHING.
Melissa took a reluctant visitor and transformed them into a lifelong friend of the library. I could not recommend this branch more. However, beware the Book Sale Shed... you may leave with more books than your home can store and for a price that can't be beaten. FIVE STARS!!
