Truthfully, it's about 50/50 that you'll find what you're looking for, and sometimes less than 50/50 that the item will be on sale. Also, the website sometimes says that an item is in-stock at this location, but when you get there and the staff checks the stock room, there's nothing there, and they have to check nearby store locations to see if they have the item there, causing you to literally be hop-scotching from one store to another to get what you're looking for. They are in need of an update to the online store, and they need staff who consistently upgrade the store inventories, so that the online store information and the in-store information is consistent and correct.
The entrance of the bookstore was very dirty, and the paint of the doors was falling off. However, to do my work, I sat in the Starbucks section of the library. This was nicer, and the noise of the coffee machines were a nice background noise to do some light work. Overall, I think that the overall experience could have been better.
Typically large, fully stocked location. Nicely merchandised, with plenty of helpful employees. Unlike the Broadway location in NYC, a purchase is not required to use the bathroom. Only issue: returns of merchandise purchased at this location can only be made at this location. And must be made the day of purchase. Customers should be made aware at time of purchase. ♿️
I really want to give 5 stars; however an employee (Brett) was just so inappropriate I must be true to myself:
I was excited entering the store because it felt so welcoming to be in a traditional bookstore (I love books/ long time educator and clergy). There is a cafe and well worn benches to sit and read I’m guessing. There’s a wide range of books and gifts. The customers were diverse the day I visited. Although I had a strange and disappointing encounter with someone said to be the manager (Brett), I will revisit. Maybe he will have received some training or perhaps move on to another job. He was hovering around me and invading my personal space saying he was doing his job. I eventually moved to a less private area because I felt uncomfortable.
Another customer approached me and told me she saw and heard everything. She said she wanted to make sure I was okay. I truly appreciated it. She then reported him to a kind woman with long locs working nearby. I also spoke with her. Another employee (Joel) was super kind and helpful too.
It’s not what I expect from Barnes and Noble but since the pandemic, there’s a mixed bag out there. Ample parking and convenient to public transportation. Worth a visit.
Big bookstore!! Haven’t been in one since I was a kid. I enjoyed going through the aisles and looking at the covers. There is a toy section that was so cute. Starbucks location inside and cute personal stuff to look at when your heading to the register.
