I decided to stop in the Book Cove on a whim yesterday afternoon. While I’ve been hearing lovely things about it for years, I didn’t see the point in stopping in and facing elevated brick and mortar price tags. However when you enter the Book Cove, there’s a sense of elegance and class that few chain stores can even attempt to match.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of modern selections and felt like I was getting the “full experience” with antiques carefully selected to match. All of the prices were incredibly reasonable and there was a stunning selection of puzzles, journals, and knickknacks to leave you fully entranced.

Everyone in the store was pleasant despite a somewhat smaller selection, you’re bound to find several pieces to suit style and reading preference. It was also wonderful to admire the selection of antique books and to see a station dedicated to wrapping if you choose to gift your items.

While I didn’t purchase anything on my initial visit, I’m looking forward to stopping in and getting swept away by the majesty again.

I was looking for a gift for a friend on short notice and I found it. I noticed that the sci Fi and fantasy section has a lot of classics, but people of color and especially women of color are underrepresented. Wish that all Hugo award winners could be carried as serendipity in browsing is a great way to open up readers to new worlds. They are willing to order anything that's not in stock, so that's nice. Also did a lovely job gift wrapping, for which I am very grateful.

Great selection of books and cute items! It always gives me the feeling of school book fair whenever I come in. Fun and festive decorations, too!

Wonderfully curated bookstore that makes an argument for having real brick and mortar shops. Each section is beautifully presented with an eclectic mix of antiques and corresponding gift items mixed in. A nice children's section and also good selection of lego toys if you need to find gifts or stuff for your kids during a weekend in town.

This store is Pawling's hidden gem! The staff is friendly, attentive, and sweet and the store itself is beautiful. I went in recently looking for a birthday present for my brother and the manager pointed me towards the perfect thing! She was very patient and helpful. They have a great "Staff Picks" section with reviews, which is perfect if you're not sure what you want. I was very impressed by their extensive and adorable children's section. The window and table displays are fantastic here as well!
