I am sure the reviews here are in someway justified but my experience was completely a 180. I was on hold for less than a minute. I found the women, who answered the phone at the Buildings department, to be extremely friendly and even shared a joke with me. We ended the call friendly wishing each other a pleasant weekend.
If you start off friendly and with true good intentions, you might fair the same experience I have received. This was just one call so consider the other calls to be either from another employee or staff has undergone a change in some way or another.
Follow-up 8/8/2016:
Called up this morning around 10:30am and spoke to the Building Inspector. Had zero wait time and he spoke friendly and patiently. At this point, if I were to guess the reasons for the negative reviews is that it's because no one really thinks to express a good experience for this line of personal experience as one would for some form of experience at a store chain or alike. Therfore, you will see negative reviews outway the positive. I only decided to post my review because I noticed the negative reviews when I looked up the phone number in the first place. After I experienced such a pleasant interaction, I decided to weigh in my experience so not to discourage the rest of the community.
