So i found an apartment on craigslist last month. A lady Ellen Sharkey was the contact to view the apt. at 3615 Greystone Ave in Riverdale, Bronx. When i got there I texted her and she said either the Super Louie or Charlotte who works in the office will show me the apt. The apt was alittle to small so i asked If they have any other apartments available in the building. She said they have another one coming up May 1st. Can i see that one as well. Too make a long story short I was dealing with the Landlord Brendan Sullivan after that with his Secretary Charlotte. They told me to contact Ellen Sharkey for the application to apply which i did and then all she did was forward Charlotte all the paperwork. I was approved. When i went to sign the lease I signed all the paperwork including the 1st month rent and then Ellen wanted her fee via Zelle or Venmo. She is not a licensed realtor nor work under a brokerage firm. I went on eaccess to look up her dept. Of state license # and she isnt even licensed to rent apts or entitled to collect a commissions which she has been paid all along for the past who knows years. I hope people that have rented apartments from this lady report it to dept of state and the IRS. After i questioned her licensed she called me and said the Landlord Brendan Sullivan does not want to rent me the apt after I signed all paperwork and gave them $$$$. I forgot to mention I never met this lady Ellen in person, she didn't show me one apt. So please justify why this lady has earned a commission of $1742.50 never leaving her house and does not hold a pocket card in New York. Am I wrong??????
