Great service highly recommended for your vehicle repairs.
Fantastic experience, struggled to find someone I could trust to do a quick EV NYS inspection. Gary set me up with an appointment last week. Unfortunately came in later for a 9am, they were still able to accommodate and get me in/out almost immediately. Justin and Greg were excellent, fast, friendly, highly recommend.
I recently ran over what I thought was a harmless piece of tire tread on the interstate. After I heard the awful THUNK of something hitting the underside of my car, I realized that the object was a piece of metal, and then my car started making a weird noise. I tried to see what was going on under my car, but I couldn't get a clear look in my driveway, so I took my car to Coatti's. Honestly, they could have told me anything and I would have had to believe them and pay what they asked. However, they told me it was just a damaged hanger, and charged me a reasonable price for fixing it, which they did by the end of the day, even though I came in without an appointment. I just wanted to write this review to thank them for their honesty and solid work.
I've used Coatti's, a local, family-owned shop, for several minor services on my 2019 Cadillac, including state inspections, a new car battery, and a radiator leak check. Maria is consistently helpful and makes scheduling appointments easy.
In February 2025, I had them install a new TPMS sensor, aiming to avoid the higher dealership cost. I specifically asked about the sensor brand and its compatibility and was assured their sensors were reliable. They charged a fair price of $135 (including tax) for both the part and labor.
Unfortunately, by May 2025, only three months later, I received a sensor failure warning. When I took my car to Cadillac for a different service, their diagnostics clearly indicated a failed sensor. I then brought the original sensor back to Coatti's along with the Cadillac report, hoping for a resolution regarding the faulty part. I wasn't looking for a full refund, as Coatti's did perform the labor and should be paid for that; my concern was solely with the defective part itself.
However, Maria later called back to say they checked it and found "no issues" with the sensor. She repeatedly suggested I "should have brought it back and we could have checked it," sort of implying Cadillac was just trying to make money. This response was incredibly frustrating. Despite clear evidence of a part failure from a professional diagnostic, the owner offered no form of resolution or accountability for the defective part. It felt like they dismissed my legitimate concern and placed the blame elsewhere, rather than acknowledging a potentially faulty part they installed. I ended up paying the higher price at Cadillac because I don't have time to go back and forth with a malfunctioning sensor.
A Note on Handling Mistakes
On a separate occasion, during one visit, one of the mechanics accidentally left a tool under my hood. Thankfully, they called that evening to check, and I found it and returned it the next day without issue. I included this detail because I understood and accepted that genuine accidents happen, and I had no complaints then. This contrasts sharply with the handling of the TPMS sensor, where a defective part was dismissed despite clear evidence, leaving me to bear the cost and inconvenience.
While Coatti's is convenient and Maria is excellent, my experience with the rapid failure of the TPMS sensor and the owner's unwillingness to address the defective part despite clear evidence was very disappointing. The lack of accountability for a part that failed so quickly after installation is a significant concern.
Great service and reall quick!! Really kind. Fully recommended!
