Lauren at Cold Spring Speech Therapy has been amazing to work with. She was engaging, kind, and instantly made my teen feel comfortable – no small feat! I love her neurodiversity-affirming approach, which helped reframe challenges in a way that eased his anxieties and built confidence. She shared practical strategies and helped him build a real 'toolbox' of techniques for him to draw from day to day. Lauren is thoughtful, supportive, and genuinely caring — we’re so grateful for her help.
Lauren is an amazing speech therapist and person. She is incredibly professional, personable, and insightful. I recommend her to all parents whose children need help developing their communication skills.
Lauren is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. When our son was a year and a half, his language comprehension was there, but he was struggling to speak. We saw results from Lauren's work instantaneously. It was almost as though he had the skills already buried and Lauren gave him the confidence to dig them out.
I'm guessing parents and babies often get stuck in a loop where there is plenty of nonverbal communication, so there is less incentive for babies to learn to speak. We were in that rut. Lauren took the wheel and helped us navigate a way forward.
A big part of this was giving my wife and I the tools to further help our kiddo, getting us to think about communication in a different way. Lauren did so with total clarity and reassuring support. I'm a pretty big talker and had assumed with basic intuitive language teaching that our son would figure it out. The early foundations of language are a different ball game, and some children simply need a little extra strategizing.
On a personal level, Lauren is as kind, positive, and professional as it gets. The energy and aura she brings to sessions alone is worth giving her a ring. Each child is different, and each parent is different, so Lauren must mold her style to fit what works for each individual. She did so with us seamlessly.
My advice would be to reach out to Lauren immediately if you think your child needs the help. She worked wonders for our son and was a pleasure to learn from.
We started working with Lauren last summer. My 5-year-old struggled with pronouncing multiple sounds and we had no local SLPs taking new clients. We had virtual sessions with Lauren for over 6 months and she helped advocate for school services. Lauren connected with my daughter in an enthusiastic, child-centric teaching style that helped her confidence bloom. I highly recommend using Lauren for your SLP needs.
Lauren has been a tremendous help to our son! When he was identified as needing some extra speech therapy services, we called several speech therapists, most who were either unresponsive or would not accommodate our schedules at all. When we reached out to Lauren, she was very responsive and showed a genuine interest in trying to help. She was very flexible with us in scheduling appointments. She stepped in and in a matter of months had him making great strides in progress, results that were confirmed by his teachers, school speech therapists and his social interactions with peers. Lauren's approach when working with our son is professional, yet she is able to connect with him at his level and mood depending on the day they work together. As a result, our son looks forward to his visits with Lauren as she effortlessly incorporates working with him but in a way that feels like playtime. If you want a therapist that produces results who truly cares about the children she works with, we cannot recommend Lauren enough!
