I visited the Commack library for the first time In a very long time. While I am in the Ellwood School district, our library did not have a book I wanted to read. The entire staff that I came in contact with at the Commack library was exceptional. The library is absolutely beautiful!! Plenty of parking, easily accessible. All kinds of services available!
It is one of the best libraries in Suffolk County. If you are a guest to this library, you can still utilize the computers. There are plenty of parking spots. The restrooms are very clean.
The Commack public library (CPL) is truly a gem in our community, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the warmth and dedication that the staff and volunteers bring to their work. The library isn’t just a place for books; it’s a vibrant hub of learning, creativity, and connection for people of all ages.
What stands out most to me are the amazing programs they offer for children and families. Whether it’s storytime sessions, hands-on craft workshops, or engaging educational activities, they have something for every young learner. My family and I have found so much joy and inspiration here. These programs spark curiosity in kids, encourage a love for reading, and create lasting memories.
Beyond the children’s programs, the library goes above and beyond to serve the entire community. From hosting book clubs and technology classes to organizing cultural events and providing essential resources, they foster an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. I have been using this library since late 2000's. This library is nostalgic and one of the staff still works there and she is sweet. Great books, good environment, and discounts on long island aquarium and AdventureLand. Nostalgia.
