I went today, Sunday February 2n 2025 to renew my library card and received Excellent service. Both the front desk lady and the librarian were extremely helpful. Great amount of availability of reading materials. Highly recommend this location.
I frequent the Elwood Public Library, bringing my grandson to the children's activity classes (registration is required) given limits on the number of children attending, which are regularly scheduled. In a word, classes are fun! These classes are usually held in the morning, but recently, evening classes were added to allow interested working parents to attend with their small children. Tomorrow night, the library is hosting a slumber party where small children come dressed in their PJs & slippers, while listening to a storybook, they enjoy a snack of cookies and milk. The staff is exceptional. The library is well organized, and the themed monthly seasonal/holiday displays located front and center are a treat to behold. There is a new children's book club starting up, details available at the library, which encourage early childhood reading and fosters a love of books 📚. There is so much more for all age groups. Program itinerary can be found on the Elwood Public Library website or come see and get personal information. Most programs are free.
I'm not sure exactly what people complaints about hours are.....this library is open same amount of time any other library is except that some libraries are open till 9pm on Friday other libraries are also only open till 5pm friday.....
Elwood library is small, but very nice! The staff is extremely helpful, someone always greets you at the front door, with a sincere smile 😃 The children's section is more than adequate for kids of various ages. I do not live in this area of Elwood, but I'm so glad I found this library!
I love this library!
All the people that work there are so very helpful and kind. They go out of their way to order a book, that they might not have. Yes it is a bit small but that what makes this place special,(keep it a secret).
Please dont let this secret out
please keep this wonderful place a secret.
