I gave up on this library some years ago when hope was lost . In 2019, a Librarian joined the children's section part time i believe ...she was marvelous. She had such wonderful, child-friendly programs that the kids loved. She was so talented , her craft sessions and displays were fascinating. She would create collage displays for Black History and Women's History Months. The children loved her and so did we. She had snacks and little goodies for the children always . She also had this small prize -box where she allowed the children to pick out gifts as reward for good behavior and hardwork.I remember my husband and I discussing with other parents about her. She would go above and beyond to offer whatever help she could always. She always had referrals if the library did not have what was being sought.
Last year, we heard she was back full time heading the section . There's a new director who is ready to transform the library and bring it up to standard. This is what the community needs. We visited the library a couple of times and it was such a joy to see the new transformation . The atmosphere is charged with so much positive energy. My daughter went up to our favorite librarian when she came out of the office .She reciprocated my daughter's hug when my daughter told her we used to visit the library years ago. It was such a pleasant visit and I'm glad we made it.
The beauty of this librarian is that she never allowed a child to walk out of the library with tears. That is a mark of a good children's librarian. God bless her !
Library is always clear and the staff is always nice and they always are asking you are you OK or do you need assistance?
I always enjoy going to this public library. The parking is free, the circulation desk staff is very courteous and professional, and also very helpful. The staff in children section are also courteous. Parking is free and are always available. Access parking convenient for those in need of ramps and automatic door access. Cool 😎 library
Atmosphere is peaceful. Very comfortable and clean inside. Provide reference materials and books needed for research. Movie rental nice for kids. Provide educational workshops and events for community members.
